Chateau Bas d'Aumelas Barathym Rouge
Country: France
Region: Languedoc
Grapes: Grenache, Carignan
Vintage: 2022
Château Bas d'Aumelas is a stunning 16th century estate located high up among the garrigue of the Hérault, and has been in the hands of its current custodians - the D'Albenas family - since the 18th century. Produced organically, these are emphatically terroir driven wines characterised by supple fruit, great freshness and the flavours and aromas of the garrigue.
This is the Barathym rouge made from 70% Grenache and 30% Carignan. A beautiful ruby red colour with hints of violet, the nose is immediately marked by blackcurrant, and the palate offers beautiful notes of garrigue and black olive. Juicy and supple on the palate with soft tannins.
