British born MW Tim Wildman loves Australian wine. It was the subject of his MW dissertation and in 2010 he established James Busby Travel to take wine trade professionals on educational tours of Australia. He started his own project in 2014 with the Astro Bunny and Heavy Pétting labels, and was very much a pioneer of the pétillant naturel style in Australia. He works in the Riverland with Mediterranean varietals which suit the hot and arid climate there.
The successor to Heavy Pétting, Piggy Pop is bright ruby red in colour with aromas of fresh cherries and raspberry liquorice. The palate explodes with cherries, black plum and light spice. Bone-dry with mouth filling bubbles and a good lick of zippy acidity.
