The Trenning is the highest vineyard in the Wachau lying at a 550m altitude. The south exposer makes the viticultural viable on the otherwise cold, windy and dry territory. Due to the steep slopes it can only be cultivated by hand as no machinery is able to climb it. The usual gneiss base soil is enriched by graphite and some limestone resulting in higher acidity and a softer style. Another gem from the guys! A breathtaking Riesling! Great to drink now but has great ageing potential.
