Born and bred in Marsannay, but not from a winemaking family, Sylvain had to start from scratch when he wanted a domaine of his own. He went to wine school in Beaune at the age of just 14 and then to wine university in Bordeaux in order to become a winemaker. 

This is Pinot Noir from 2 hectares of 60 year old vines in the lieu dit of 'Clos du Roy', widely considered one of the best in Marsannay. Fermented with 90% whole bunches and aged for 18 months in barrel, this is a beautifully open raspberry and red cherry scented Pinot with a superb combination of elegance and power.
