A mythical Cornas from a mythical producer. Thiérry Allemand started his Northern Rhône domaine from scratch in the 1980s and has gone on to become one of the most sought after winemakers around the world.

This is from Chaillot; one of the great terroirs of Cornas with precipitously steep south-facing slopes. The Syrah vines here are around 45 years old, and Thiérry works with whole bunches, minimal sulphur and long elevage on the lees without racking. From 2014, this is beautifully open and expressive with exquisitely supple texture, floral aromatics and touches of black olives, rosemary, wood smoke and blackberries.
