Clos de la Maréchale is a single, nine hectare Premier Cru parcel in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and the largest monopole (appellation belonging to a single owner) in the whole Côte d’Or. The average age of the vines in 2008 was around 45 years the wine has the straightforwardness and density of the wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges, but without the austerity and rough tannins of many of the young wines. One for the cellar, Clos De La Maréchale need a few years of ageing before they fully come into its own, but will then develop a typical floral character tinged, with raspberry, iris and white lilac.
