Château Bas d'Aumelas is a stunning 16th century estate located high up among the garrigue of the Hérault, and has been in the hands of its current custodians - the D'Albenas family - since the 18th century. Produced organically, these are emphatically terroir driven wines characterised by supple fruit, great freshness and the flavours and aromas of the garrigue.

The Égérie Rouge is Château Bas' top red cuvée made from 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache and aged in French oak for 20 months. The result is a highly expressive wine with an intense purple robe. The nose is complex, concentrated and rich, evoking spicy and balsamic notes. The attack is powerful and well-balanced, with intense fruit and very fine tannins.
