Peter Gierszewski of Domaine de Thalie has 4.5 hectares of vines around the village of Cluny in the Macon where he grows the usual Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté, and less usual Syrah and Gamay. Peter works organically in the vineyard and vinifies naturally in the cellar with no additions save for a little sulphur at bottling when necessary.

Les Pierres Levées is Peter's top Chardonnay from a single parcel of high altitude 40 year old vines planted in limestone. Vinified in stainless steel then aged for a year in old oak, this is taut and precise with concentrated citrus and stone fruit supported by chalky minerality, smoke and fine acidity.
