Tillingham Qvevri Orange

Tillingham Qvevri Orange

Country: England

Region: East Sussex

Grapes: Ortega, Madeleine Angevine, Bacchus, Muller Thurgau

Vintage: 2019

Tillingham is the brainchild of winemaker Ben Walgate who crafts natural wines from his 70 acre farm near Rye in East Sussex.

This year's Qvevri White is a blend of Ortega, Madeleine Angevine, Bacchus and Muller Thurgau. These were vinified separately in clay amphorae, before being aged in oak foundres and blended. Pale golden orange in colour, slightly hazy. Citrus peel, stone fruit and salinity on the nose, lead onto a zesty, vibrant palate, with layers of texture and a persistent finish.
