Marco Turco Supernova
Marco Turco is a young talented winemaker in love with his land and vines, located on the gentle hills of Breganze, between the Brenta river, the Monti Lessini Natural Park and the Asiago Plateau in Veneto. The soils here are of volcanic origin: basalt and tufo with a high limestone content. Marco works without herbicides or pesticides in the vineyard and only strictly necessary interventions in the cellar to create wines that are full of energy and closely linked to the land from which they come. This is his funky, savoury col fondo (with lees) sparkling wine made from the local Vespaiola grape that is macerated on skins for 3 days. Before bottling some of the original grape must is added back in to provide the fuel for the second fermentation in bottle. Fragrant and enticing with lychee and passion fruit aromas supported by some white flower notes. Nicely textured on the palate with some grip on the finish from the skin contact.
