Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot DD
Grapes: Pinot Noir, Trousseau, Poulsard
The domaine of Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is widely regarded as one of the very best in Jura, and the Tissot family more generally is widely known in the region for its long tradition of winemaking. Bénédicte & Stéphane converted the domaine to organics in 1999 and biodynamics shortly after, with the focus on pure expressions of terroir. The whites are characterised by a signature smoky reductive quality on the nose and immense power on the palate while the reds are fragrant and ethereal.
Made in honour of Stéphane's father Andre (dédé/DD) who started the domaine, DD is a blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Poulsard aged in 100 year old oak foudre and bottled without sulphur. Pure fruited and elegant with lively cherry, berry, bonfire and forest floor aromas.
