Tavel is unquestionably one of the finest terroirs in the southern Rhône, on the opposite bank of the river from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Here the Rieu family created the Moulin-La-Viguerie domaine in the late 16^th century, pulling together some of the finest vineyards on the limestone-clay combe of Malaven to the west of the village.

A field blend of seven red and white varieties, this has appearance akin to an unfiltered Pinot Noir rather than rosé, and explodes with aromas and flavours of spicy black cherry, raspberries, juniper and bay leaf.
