Amorotti make classic ageworthy wines in the historic region of Abruzzo. Gaetano’s winery is still housed in his family’s cellar in Loreto Aprutino across the street from the famed Valentini cellar, and the style is certainly comparable. His vineyards are planted in chalky-clay soils high in the hills of Abruzzo and have been certified organic since 2009. They also represent incredible value, when compared with some of the other big players in the region.

Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a unique style of rosé, typically much deeper in color with more structure and intensity to match. Made by direct pressed Montepulciano and ageing it for one year in used botti before bottling. Sour cherry juice, citrus fruit citrus fruit and a spicy earthy note plus a little tannic grip. Try it with grilled meats or roast pork!
