Bencze Birtok Autochton
Grapes: Furmint, Harslevalu, Keknyelu
Istvan Bencze has a small patchwork of vines on the side of Szent György mountain in Badacsony, Hungary. The soil is made up mainly from volcanic basalt with a mix of clay, loess and sand. He picks early to preserve acidity and works with minimal intervention in the winery.
Autochton is a blend of indigenous Hungarian varieties fermented on skins in amphora for 8 day before ageing on the lees for 9 months and bottled without filtration or sulphur. Aromas of freshly baked key lime pie paired with a pear and mango smoothie. Vibrant, exciting and a lot of fun!
