The domaine of Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is widely regarded as one of the very best in Jura, and the Tissot family more generally is widely known in the region for its long tradition of winemaking. Bénédicte & Stéphane converted the domaine to organics in 1999 and biodynamics shortly after, with the focus on pure expressions of terroir. The whites are characterised by a signature smoky reductive quality on the nose and immense power on the palate while the reds are fragrant and ethereal.

Sursis is Chardonnay from grapes grown in clay in the village of Menetru-le-Vignoble, a rare plot within the Savagnin stronghold of Château Chalon. Aged in a mix of old and new oak barrels for 12 months, this is one of our favourite Tissot wines, combining rich a decadent honey and spice aromas with a searing Jura backbone.
