Cascina Tavijn Bandita
Grapes: Barbera d'Asti
Nadia Verrua’s family has been making wines in the hills of Monferrato in the province of Asti for over a century. Their ten hectares of land are farmed organically and split equally between vines bearing local grape varieties and hazelnut trees. The wines are fermented with wild yeasts and raised in a mixture of big old botti, fibreglass and cement.
Bandita is Barbera d’Asti from 40 years old vines planted on the steep, sandy slopes of Monferrato aged for a year in concrete and bottled unfiltered and without any additions. It's fresh and invigorating with herb tinged blackberry fruit and plenty of earth and spice.
