Catherine and Dominique Derain are true legends in Burgundy, with winemaking careers 40 years long and counting. Starting in the 1970s as a cooper (barrel maker) Dominique worked in famous cellars in Puligny Montrachet, Alsace and Beaujolais before settling in Saint-Aubin where along with wife Catherine he has produced thrilling biodynamic wines since the 1990s.

From the Premier Cru of Sentier du Clou, a fine site about halfway up the slope facing due south. Rich and generous but finely balanced with plenty of tension and length, one of the best of the best from Derain.
