Château de Béru Chablis 'Montserre'
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Grapes: Chardonnay
Vintage: 2019
Château de Béru has been making wine for over 400 years from some of the finest parcels in Chablis, some of which are known to have been under vine since the 9th century. Current custodians Laurence de Béru and her daughter Athénaïs converted the domaine to organics in 2005 and began conversion to biodynamics in 2010, taking the wines made in the famed oyster shell littered Kimmeridgian soils to another level of purity and finesse.
Montserre is a single parcel of Chardonnay located at the top of the Béru hillside. A taut and precise wine but with plenty of generosity from the riper vintage and notes of lemon and stone fruit, baking spice and toast.
