Château de Villeneuve Saumur Champigny

Château de Villeneuve has been making wine since 1577 and is now run by Jean-Pierre Chevallier, a 4th generation winemaker who used to teach oenology at Bordeaux University before returning to his family’s property. Overall there is 25 hectares of vines growing in chalky soils overlooking the Loire, 80% of which are Cabernet Franc and 20% Chenin, all grown organically.
The Saumur Champigny is Cabernet Franc part fermented in old oak. Beautifully balanced with raspberry liquorice, blackcurrant, roasted herb and smoke aromas.
