Château Gombaude-Guillot is small gem of an estate with 7 hectares situated in the heart of the Pomerol plateau, surrounded by famous neighbours including Cheval Blanc and Le Pin. The property is today run by Olivier Techer, the winemaker, his wife Marine and his brother Sylvain.

Organic Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) grapes are hand harvested, sorted, destemmed and lightly crushed before a natural fermentation and ageing in a mix of Allier oak (50% new) and some clay amphora before bottling unfiltered. A heady, intoxicating Pomerol with vivid aromas of souk spice, tobacco, mint and wave upon wave of pure red and black fruit. We had this over 3 days and each day offered something very different but equally compelling, a thoroughly rewarding experience!
