Corentin Houillon Veronnet Blanc
Country: France
Region: Savoie
Grapes: Altesse
Vintage: 2019
Corentin Houillon’s adventures in the world of natural wine date back to 1991, when he helped to process the grapes of legendary Jura winemaker Pierre Overnoy. From there he went on to work with Domaine Tissot in Jura and Derain in Burgundy before establishing his own project in the Chautagne region of Savoie.
His Veronnet Blanc is an incredible expression of Altesse from a steep sloping vineyard that he works by hand. Aged on the lees in old oak for a year with some exposure to oxygen, this is a rich, intense wine with lightly oxidative notes of quince and pear, a saline minerality and great length.
