Davide Xodo Garganegade
Davide Xodo studied enological sciences in Toulouse, returning to his native Vicenza after winemaking stints in Bierzo and Tuscany. His project is to valorise the Colli Berici, an area that used to be a an important area for wine production in Italy.
This is 100% Garganega from limestone soils, vinified in three separate ways. One-third with a month on skins, another third direct pressed and the last third undergoing whole bunch carbonic maceration. After blending the wine is then aged for six months in concrete vats. The result is a savoury orange wine with a lovely mouth-coating texture, generous fruit and chalky limestone minerality on the finish.
