Domaine de la Loue La Brute
Grapes: Pinot Noir
Catherine Hannoun of Domaine de la Loue is a new Jura producer for us and one that really blew us away at tasting - savoury, complex, and just quintessentially Jura. Named after the river Loue which snakes its way through Port Lesney where Catherine is based, the domaine is very small at only 3 hectares, with all vines farmed organically and the wines made with no filtration, sulphur or other additions.
La Brute is Catherine's Pinot Noir from a South-East facing slope of vines planted 35 years ago. It's earthy and mineral with plenty of Jura funkiness lifted by ripe cherry and strawberry fruit.
