Domaine de la Loue La Bulle Bleue
Catherine Hannoun of Domaine de la Loue is a new Jura producer for us and one that really blew us away at tasting - savoury, complex, and just quintessentially Jura. Named after the river Loue which snakes its way through Port Lesney where Catherine is based, the domaine is very small at only 3 hectares, with all vines farmed organically and the wines made with no filtration, sulphur or other additions.
La Bulle Bleue is sparkling Chardonnay made in the traditional Champagne method and aged on the lees for several years before disgorgement. Very fine bubbles carry waves of toast, spice, apple and citrus aromas. Intense and taut on the palate with creamy citrus, yeasty bread and lovely richness cut through with acidity.
