Domaine de l'Octavin Cigoyne
Grapes: Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris
Despite having trained in Bordeaux and Burgundy, Alice Bouvot knew that when it came to start her own domaine, the Jura would be the place. In 2004 she started from scratch, buying a small cellar in the village of Arbois where she makes electrifying wines from negotiant fruit as well as a couple of hectares of vines in the Jura itself.
Cigoyne is a blend of Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris from biodynamic Alsace vineyards. Co-fermented on skins for 10 days, it has soaring aromas of lychee, passionfruit and apricot with a lovely lactic creaminess and plenty of spice.
