Domaine Hughes-Béguet Orange Was The Colour Of Her Dress
Patrice Béguet of Domaine Hughes-Béguet has just under 5 hectares of vines in Arbois. He is committed to biodynamic viticulture, sowing wild flowers, legumes and native fruits between the vines, and also keeps bees to encourage biodiversity. Fermented with wild yeasts and made with minimal intervention in the cellar, Patrice's wines are always captivating and memorable interpretations of the Jura terroir.
Orange Was The Colour Of Her Dress is a rare example of skin contact Savagnin made from two plots in Mene and Pupillin. Fermented and aged on the skins for 8 months before ageing in a combination of old barrels and stainless steel, it's awesomely complex with hints of white flowers, dried apricots, ginger, hay and citrus peel. A really special wine from Patrice of which less than 2,000 are made each vintage.
