Domaine La Croix Montjoie Vézelay Impatiente
Established in 2009, Domaine La Croix Montjoie is the project of Sophie and Matthieu Woillez, located in the Yonne department in northern Burgundy. The estate covers ten hectares in the village of Tharoiseau, one of the four villages that makes up the Vezelay appellation, which was created in 2017 and is exclusively for white wines. The wines here share the chiselled, mineral character of Chablis, which is a mere 30 miles north, but with a more expressively fruity character. Among the very few in Burgundy to have all their vines in one single parcel, Sophie and Matthieu are certified organic and farm on clay and limestone rich soils.
Aged for 9 months on the lees in stainless steel, Impatiente is a tense and linear wine combining crystalline white fruits and white flowers on the nose with a beautiful roundness on the palate.
