Domaine Labet is a benchmark family estate in Rotalier, in the southern Jura, where Julien, Romain and Charline Labet have established themselves among the region’s most exciting and sought-after vignerons. Their approach is meticulous yet uncompromisingly natural, working with old vines rooted in complex limestone and marl soils and vinifying parcel by parcel to reveal the individuality of each site. Fermentations are spontaneous, with no additions, and élevage is long and careful, often stretching well beyond three years in old barrels.

The Savagnin ‘Élevage Long’ En Chalasse comes from a single lieu-dit of clay-limestone marl, vinified without fortification and raised sous voile for 6 years. Profound, layered and utterly distinctive, it marries intense citrus peel, orchard fruit and dried flowers with saline, nutty complexity and a taut mineral spine. Structured and age-worthy, this is a compelling expression of Savagnin and one of the Jura’s most thrilling wines.
