Domaine Les Bottes Rouges Gibus
Jean-Baptiste Menigoz of Domaine Les Bottes Rouges began his working life in Arbois as a special needs teacher before becoming increasingly interested in natural wine through his good friend and esteemed Jura vigneron Raphael Monnier of Ratapoil. Jean-Baptiste now has 7 hectares of organic vines around Arbois and works with native yeast and no sulphur or other additions for all his wines.
Gibus is Trousseau from vines planted in 1956 in chalky limestone soils. This is Jean-Baptiste's most serious wine, very complex and structured with an array of aromas from black pepper and spice, to blackcurrant, cherry, undergrowth and herbs.
