Eric Morgat Anjou 'La Croisee de Chenins'

Eric Morgat Anjou 'La Croisee de Chenins'

Country: France

Region: Loire Valley

Grapes: Chenin Blanc

Vintage: 2017

Eric Morgat is one of the stars of Savennières, with 6 hectares of vines at Clos Ferrand which he has recovered from abandoned plots since 1995. Farming is organic and Eric uses long and slow natural fermentation and elevage to create wine of incredible depth, power and tension.

La Croisee de Chenins is the only wine made by Eric in the frost blighted 2017 vintage with the fruit coming from his Fidès and Litus vineyards. Aged for 18 months in barrel and a further year in bottle before release, it's taut and chiseled with intense citrus and quince fruit, pronounced spice notes and a long, powerful finish.
