Eugenio Bocchino Lu Barolo
Eugenio and Cinzia Bocchino work their vines along biodynamic principles in Piemonte. In total they have 5.5 hectares tending livestock and other crops as well as grapes. All wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and bottled without fining or filtration.
Lu is Eugenio and Cinzia's flagship Barolo, named after their daughter Lucia. The grapes come from a single parcel of old vines planted in 1968 with the wine released 4 years after the harvest, spending two years in cask, one year in cement and one year in bottle. Full of savoury fruit, spices, elegant tannins and typical tar and rose petal aromas, this is an exceptional Barolo that is approachable at a young age but also has huge potential for ageing.
