Ham Street Wines is the project of husband & wife team Lucie and Jules, who planted four hectares of vines just on the edge the Romney marsh in Kent four years ago. Starting the project as a way of re-connecting with nature whilst still working full-time jobs in accounting, Lucie and Jules were quickly bitten by the regenerative agriculture bug, understanding that improving soil health, promoting biodiversity and doing as little as possible to disturb the natural balance was the key to healthy fruit, and happy wines. They are currently awaiting organic certification, but truly go above and beyond the minimum requirements, working with biodynamic teas and preparations, and having been no-till since 2021.

From the 2022 vintage, this is one of only 288 bottles produced from a single barrel of Bacchus that was destemmed, wild fermented and macerated on skins for 10 months before bottling without sulphur or other additions. Fleshy plum, tangerine and lemon peel aromas up front with savoury spice, beeswax and smoke flavours coming through on the well textured palate.
