Jean-Christophe Garnier Les Nouettes
Grapes: Grolleau, Pineau d'Aunis
Jean-Christophe was a sommelier before deciding to pack it in and actually make the stuff. He has some 60 year old and 40 year old Chenin vines and a bit of Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, Gamay and Pineau d’Aunis. The vines grow on schist, limestone and marl – the distinctive terroir of the Layon valley.
Les Nouettes is a whole bunch blend of Grolleau and Pineau d'Aunis with juicy, slighty stalky red fruit from the Grolleau complemented by the soaring bergamot and white pepper aromatics of the Pineau d'Aunis. A delicious and incredibly morish cuvee from Jean-Christophe!
