Le Coste Rosso Di Gaetano
Clementine Bouveron and Gianmarco Antonuzzi make wine in the volcanic, iron rich soils of northern Lazio. They have around 14 hectares of land with vineyards interspersed with olive groves and chestnut trees. All work in the vineyards is done by hand and the wines are made with minimal intervention in the winery.
Rosso Di Gaetano is from a single vineyard planted over tufo soils in Pitigliano. It's roughly half Sangiovese with the rest a mix of Syrah and Merlot. It spent three weeks on skins, before being pressed off to cuve to rest for six months. Focussed, savoury and spicy with plenty of concentrated black fruit and a great of charm.
