Le Soula Blanc
Region: Côtes Catalanes
Grapes: Macabeu, Sauvignon, Grenache Blanc, Gris, Marsanne, Roussanne, Malvoisie du Roussillon and Chardonnay
Le Soula is project created in 2001 by Gerard Gauby, Mark Walford and Roy Richards. Gerard was convinced that the old vines at Fenouilledes located on the heights at the foot of the Pyrenees benefited from a cooler climate and had the potential to produce wines of really high quality. At 650 metres above sea level these vines are some of the highest in France.
Now considered one of, if not the finest white wine in Côte Catalanes, Le Soula Blanc is a blend of Macabeu, Sauvignon, Grenache Blanc, Gris, Marsanne, Roussanne, Malvoisie du Roussillon and Chardonnay all grown biodynamically in granitic soil. Savoury, herbal, spicy and mineral all at the same time, this is a wine that offers something new each time you bring your nose to the glass.
