Matt Gregory is an English winemaker working with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Solaris and Bacchus that he grows in the Leicestershire Wolds. The emphasis is on careful grape handling and extended infusion macerations with the aim of creating wines that allow that sense of place to show through in a very hands off way. 

Matt's Orange is made from 100% Solaris grapes. Solaris is always the first of Matt’s grapes to be ripe, as much as 10 days earlier than any others. These grapes were de-stemmed and macerated with the grape skins for 9 weeks before being pressed. The wine was rested in stainless steel for 8 months on fine lees before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered with a small 10ppm sulphur addition post malolactic fermentation. It has layers of pithy grapefruit, chamomile, and wildflower honey with a herbal medicinal note and a touch of tannin. Only 750 bottles produced.
