Hans Peter-Schmidt took over the production of these vineyards in Valais, Switzerland in 2004 and began converting the land to organics. The project is all about biodiversity, and all the vineyards are beautifully overgrown and lush. Zero sulphur is used.
Blue Velvet is whole bunch Pinot Noir from the highest slopes below the ancient castle of Ayent that spends 18 months in old oak barrels. Beautifully developed with creamy cherry and cranberry fruit and hints of cocoa, alpine herbs, liquorice and balsamic. Long, powerful and a completely unique and memorable take on this fabled variety.
