Paolo Bea Rosso de Véo
Country: Italy
Region: Umbria
Grapes: Sagrantino
Vintage: 2015
Paolo Bea is an iconic winemaker in Montefalco, Umbria, working with the local Sagrantino variety (and others) to create magical, long lived wines with a reputation that rivals the top Italian reds of Barolo and Brunello.
The Rosso de Véo is Sagrantino from Paolo's younger vines in the crus of Pagliaro and Cerrete with 40-50 days' maceration on skins. It is then aged for a year in stainless steel tanks, two years in large oak barrels and another year in bottle before release. An immense and enchanting Sagrantino with earthy cherry, blackcurrant, fig, clove, mint and smoke aromas.
