Alexandre Durand of Pèira Levada has 4 hectares of vines split across 12 tiny parcels in Faugères. Half of his parcels are on the iconic schist of the appellation and the other half give the domaine its name; right on the edge of Faugères, these clay heavy soils are pocked with raised spines of marble breaking through the surface: pèira levada or 'raised stones' in Occtitan dialect. 

Lust for Wine is a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah from the latter, fermented with wild yeasts and vinified entirely without sulphur. Deep and vigorous with concentrated black fruits, savoury hints of peppered game, leather and tobacco and a surprisingly fresh finish.
