The Radikon family own 12 hectares of vines at the far east of Venezia-Giulia, near the Slovenian border. A maverick and pioneer, Stankoʼs desire to make orange wine led him to abandon chemical products entirely in 1995 as he realised he couldn't macerate juice and skins if the skins were covered with pesticides. Aged for an average of 4 years before release, these are some of the most memorable and profound orange wines on the planet, with a potential for ageing matched only by their complexity.
Jakot is Tocai Friulano fermented on skins for 4 months with indigenous yeasts before ageing for 4 years in large oak foudre. An incredibly complex, powerful wine with waves of dried apricot, raisin, nut and spice aromas.
