Radikon Pinot Grigio Sivi
Grapes: Pinot Gris
The Radikon family own 12 hectares of vines at the far east of Venezia-Giulia, near the Slovenian border. A maverick and pioneer, Stankoʼs desire to make orange wine led him to abandon chemical products entirely in 1995 as he realised he couldn't macerate juice and skins if the skins were covered with pesticides. Aged for an average of 4 years before release, these are some of the most memorable and profound orange wines on the planet, with a potential for ageing matched only by their complexity.
Sivi is Pinot Grigio fermented on skins for 12 days and aged for 18 months in old oak. A powerful and structure orange wine, but still bright and lifted with aromas of orange peel, baking spices, apple and white flowers.
