Sebastien Riffault Arkmenine Sancerre
Country: France
Region: Loire
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
Vintage: 2016
The Riffault family have been making wine in Sancerre for generations. After working with his father, Sebastien began working under his own label in 2002, making late-harvested, botrytis affected wines that stand in stark contrast to the typically lean and grassy Sauvignon Blanc Sancerre is known for. All his wines are vinified dry and bottled without any additives.
Arkmenine (made of stones) is Sauvignon made with some skin-contact from vines grown in clay and limestone. A generous and complex wine with smoky peach and apricot aromas, plenty of weight and vibrant green apple acidity.
