Slobodne is one of the leading lights of organic and natural wine-making in Slovakia, with 17 hectares of vines that comprise just fraction of their 350 hectare farm where they tend to livestock, keep bees and grow poppies, barley, wheat, rapeseed, and more.

The Majer red and white are their introductory wines, made from multi-vintage, multi-grape, multi-vessel blends to create a very balanced and unmistakably 'Slobodne' expression of the terroir. In this case it is most of their white grapes, including Devín, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, and Traminer, all vinified separately (some macerated on skins) and aged in a mixture of barrels, tanks, amphoras, eggs, and more. Layered and textural whilst retaining freshness, this is an absolutely delicious white wine.
