Stephane Otheguy Condrieu

Stephane Otheguy makes sensational wine from 1.5 hectares of vines planted in the steep and rocky northern Rhone appelations of Côte Rôtie, Saint-Joseph and Condrieu. He ferments his wine in open top vats with indigenous yeasts without temperature control and bottles without any fining or filtration.
This is his Condrieu aged half in cuve and half in older barrels without batonage for 2 years. Zesty pear and stone fruit on the nose with delicate spice and just a hint of the power to come; the palate starts supple and elegant, before building to a tremendously long and powerful finish.
