Zsolt Sütő has 12 hectares of land near the village of Strekov in Slovakia. He cultivates his vines by hand and trains them as bush vines to force their roots to go deeper and thus less sensitive to drought. In the cellar the wines ferment spontaneously in barrels and open top vats without any intervention.
Nigori is a very special cuvee of which only 400 bottles were made. 100% Welschriesling which was de-stemmed and pressed into a mixture of old and new Zemplén oak barrels, where it aged on the lees for 6 months before bottling without filtration or sulphur. A wonderfully silky and savoury wine with poached pear, nut and smoke aromas supported by fine acidity.
