Tenuta Mattei is a bucolic organic estate set amongst the Esino hills of Marche, a short drive inland from Italy's Adriatic coast. Here in alluvial soils rich in marine soils they grow the 6 varieties key to Marche winemaking: Verdicchio, Passerina and Pecorino (for whites) and Lacrima, Montepulciano and Sangiovese (for reds). 

This is the Lacrima, a vivid, intensely aromatic wine with floral aromas of roses and violets alongside wild cherries, crushed raspberries and sappy pine.
