Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos of Tetramythos makes wine in the rugged mountain vineyards of the northern Peloponnese. Working organically with indigenous varieties he crafts vigorous, saline wines from these high altitude sites (850m!) that are cooled by the sea breezes coming in from the Gulf of Corinth. 

This is Mavro Kalavrytino, a rare northern Peloponnese grape that Tetramythos is putting back on the map. Made in a low-intervention style, the fruit ferments spontaneously and soaks on skins for 2 weeks before pressing; to ensure purity and concentration, only free-run juice is used.  Full of vibrant fruit flavours, this is an elegant, perfumed red with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour profile and smoky, earthy notes on the finish.
